Champion for the accused…

I graduated from Louisiana State University at Alexandria in 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business.  I further graduated from University of Phoenix in 2008 with a Master’s Degree in Business Administration.  I graduated from Southern University Law School in 2011 with a Juris Doctorate degree, and then passed the Louisiana Bar Exam in the Fall of 2011.

I am admitted to practice in all Louisiana State District Courts, the Western District of Louisiana, and U.S. Tax Court.

I have primarily been a criminal defense lawyer, having joined the Avoyelles and Rapides Parish Public Defender’s Offices in 2015.  Since then, I have been appointed as the Avoyelles Parish Chief Public Defender in 2021.  The Chief Public Defender is in charge of all public defense in a particular parish.

I have been lead counsel in over thirty jury trials completed to verdict, and several other trials that started but ended prior to verdict.  At least twelve of the trials I have been lead counsel on have dealt with offenses with life in prison sentence possibilities.

I am currently the Magistrate in the Town of Mansura (2018) and the Town of Cottonport (2023).  I have also been the volunteer Judge for the Avoyelles Parish Teen Court since 2015.

I am a member of the Louisiana Criminal Defense Lawyers Association and the Public Defender Association of Louisiana
